Ombud to release report

EDITOR’S NOTE: Ombud Charles Murray will release a report entitled Failure to Protect to members of the Procedure, Privileges and Legislative Officers committee at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday Feb 7, 2019, in the committee room of the legislative assembly, 706 Queen St., Fredericton.

The report focuses on the office’s probe into the delivery of care at a health care institution.

Following the release of the report at 2:00 p.m., Ombud Murray will hold a news conference at Edgecombe House, 736 King Street, Fredericton.

The Ombud will appear before the Standing Committee on Procedure, Privileges and Legislative Officers at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2019 to present a Report entitled Failure to Protect.  The Standing Committee meeting is open to the public and will be conducted in the Council Chamber of the Legislative Assembly. There will also be an audio broadcast of the proceedings which will be available online at:

October 2015 – Ombudsman takes on new responsibilities to promote New Brunswick’s leadership in the area of administrative fairness.

Recently elected as the Association des ombudsmans et médiateurs de la Francophonie’s 2nd Vice-president during the association’s IX Congress which was held in Quebec City from October 13th to 15th, New Brunswick’s Ombudsman, Charles Murray, will represent and promote our province’s leadership in the advancement and protection of the principles of good governance as well as the mechanisms that ensure the public administration’s integrity.  Read more…
